Lifting of Hands - The lifting of hands can mean many things. It can be a physical response of heartfelt agreement with a thought, a song sung, or a word spoken. It also expresses our total surrender to God in true worship of Him. Whatever it may mean to the individual, the lifting up of our hands is a valid expression of worship and is so stated in both the old and new testaments. "Lift up your hands to the sanctuary, and bless the Lord." Psalm 134:2 NAS “So I will bless Thee as long as I live: I will lift up my hands in Thy name.” Psalm 63:4 NAS
“Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath
and dissention.” Clapping of Hands - Clapping of hands is, according to scripture, another valid way of expressing worship to our great God and King. Hand clapping and shouting is a universal expression of joy. We are a people that find true joy in worshipping God. If there is any valid reason for joy at all, it is to be found in the privilege of coming into the presence of God and worshipping Him with our whole hearts. “O clap your hands, all peoples; Shout to God with the voice of joy.” Psalm 47:1. NAS Dancing Before the Lord - Another expression of worship is dancing. This is not to be confused in any way with ballroom dancing. Rather it is a spontaneous response of an individual seeking to worship God with his whole being. King David in the Old Testament was so full of the joy of the Lord that he danced before the Ark of the Covenant, which was the symbol of Gods presence in his day. "Praise Him with the
trimbrel and dancing;..." Standing to Sing - After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; 10 and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." Revelation 7:9-10 Singing of Choruses and Spiritual
Songs - It is very likely that in our services you will hear
the people begin spontaneously to sing praises to God, both in English and in “other tongues”. We also sing scriptural choruses. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another
in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you of richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16.
"And the Levites of the children of Kashites stood up of in praise of the Lord
God of Israel with a to loud a on high." Please select an area of interest from the menu on the right or from the Site Menu above.
